Brown Law is a growing law firm specializing in family law, real estate, corporate law, known for our professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client service. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Bookkeeper to join our administrative team.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting tasks including trust and general account reconciliations

Maintain accurate records in compliance with law society guidelines and trust accounting rules

Prepare and issue client invoices and process payments

Monitor accounts receivable/payable and follow up on outstanding balances

Coordinate with lawyers and support staff regarding billing and time entries

Generate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, year-end)

Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed

Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal accounting standards
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a legal environment

Proficiency with legal accounting software (e.g., PCLaw, Clio, Cosmolex)

Strong understanding of trust accounting rules and law society regulations

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Assets

Familiarity with payroll processing

Experience with GST/HST filings and year-end preparation
